    Key points about treatment costs

Injections are typically required for many years, and possibly for life.

You should obtain a written estimate of fees, Medicare benefits and out-of-pocket costs from your ophthalmologist.

If you have financial difficulty with treatment costs, discuss your concerns with your ophthalmologist or the appointed person in the practice.

Cost of injections are just one of the challenges of maintaining treatment. Transport and other health issues can also make it difficult to comply with your treatment regime.

You should never stop or skip treatment without discussing this with your ophthalmologist, as it could have permanent consequences for your vision.

Please discuss any concerns you have about your treatment with your ophthalmologist.

MDFA is also here to help and you can speak with us about options for making the treatment burden easier.
