If you’re unsure, then the best chance of detecting eye disease early — before it affects your vision — is to understand your personal risk factors. The Check My Macula quiz is a quick, easy way to learn more about your risk of age-related macular degeneration and diabetes-related eye conditions.
Eye exams are important
Macular disease can affect anyone, at any age — often without symptoms in the early stages. That’s why regular eye exams, including a check of your macula, are so important.
It’s recommended you have an eye exam at least every two years— or as advised by your optometrist — especially once you turn 50. If you have diabetes, it is also recommended that you have an annual eye check with an optometrist and register with the Keep Sight program for regular reminders.
If you notice sudden changes in your vision, don’t wait. Book an appointment straight away.
