Supporting you, as you care for someone with vision loss

Many people living with vision loss from macular disease require carers to help them maintain their quality of life and independence.

Often these carers are unpaid family or friends.

Being a carer can be time-consuming and sometimes feel a little overwhelming. Sometimes you may feel as if you are on your own, but there’s a lot of information and support available.

Caring for someone with reduced vision requires a support team. That team is centred around the person who needs care, and needs to partner also with you, the carer.

On this page you’ll find resources specifically curated for carers. There’s also information on macular diseases and living well with vision loss

Macular Disease Foundation Australia is uniquely positioned to help you, in your role as carer for someone with vision loss. And if you ever need us, our National Helpline is available to support you as well as the person you are caring for.
