Living with diabetic retinopathy or diabetic macular oedema? You don’t have to face it alone.
Eye Connect is a free, confidential support service from Macular Disease Foundation Australia, Australia’s peak organisation supporting the macular disease community.
Developed with Diabetes Australia, Eye Connect helps you understand your condition, manage daily challenges, and feel supported between appointments.
Our new service was shaped by insights from people living with diabetes-related eye conditions, alongside a wide range of eye health professionals.

Initially, it was really-really scary to find out you need to have injections in your eyes. I started searching online to find out what it is about. I found a lot of scientific or medical information, but there was really nothing about the process that I could find myself.
Jo, who lives with diabetic macular oedema.
Stories like Jo’s are why we created Eye Connect.
