Set your reminder
A regular eye exam – including a check of the macula – is the only way to accurately diagnose or monitor macular disease, which can affect anyone at any age. Eye exams become particularly important as you get older.
Provide us with your contact details and your preferred method for your reminder. Select a date on the calendar and we’ll get in touch when it is time to book your eye exam.
Your contact details:
It’s generally recommended you have an eye exam, including a macula check:
- If you're under 65, at least every two years
- If you're over 65, at least every year.
If you have diabetes and any additional risk factors, have an eye exam at least once a year.
Some additional risk factors include:
- poor diabetes control
- high blood pressure
- being of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
Regular eye examinations are essential for people with diabetes, even if your results have been clear in the past.
Always follow the advice of your eye professional, who may recommend more (or less) frequent eye exams.
If you notice sudden changes in your vision, don’t wait. You should have an eye exam immediately.
