About the presenter
Well known in the nutrition research field for her contribution to the body of knowledge around nutrition and eye disease, Professor Vicki Flood played a key role in the Blue Mountains Eye Study that provided important information on the protective effects of diet and eye health. Vicki is the Head of Clinical School Northern Rivers, and Director of the University Centre for Rural Health with the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. She has a background in nutrition science, dietetics, epidemiology and public health, and research areas include population-based cohort studies and clinical trials to reduce chronic disease. Vicki has over 200 peer reviewed publications in the scientific literature and supervises several research students. She is passionate about applying research into the clinical and community context and translating research into practice.
