Support services overview

We’re here for you

Macular Disease Foundation Australia’s offers a range of supports so all Australians living with a macular condition are equipped to adjust to changes in vision and live an optimal quality of life.

All MDFA services are free.

In 2024, Macular Disease Foundation launched My Eyes, the first service in Australia for people with macular disease. My Eyes was designed in collaboration with patients, carers and eye care professionals to ensure you get the best care between visits to your optometrist or ophthalmologist.

Through My Eyes, you’ll get tailored, relevant health information, practical advice and emotional support.

Our other support programs are:

  • Mac Mates, which provides one-on-one peer to peer phone support when you just need a friendly voice on the other end of the phone that knows what you’re going through.
  • Eye Connect, which is a series of support groups that meets online or in person in locations across Australia.
